Biography

Jim Fryer has worked in varying fields of photography. From television commercials and documentaries to editorial photography in the Middle East and now reportage wedding photography.
His clients have included BBC TV, Channel 4, Emirates Airlines, The National Bank of Dubai, Time Out Magazine and Audi & Bentley Middle East.

After studying engineering he started working with lighting in film & television. He worked on commercials, often in stop frame animation studios, and documentaries which is where his stills photography became commercially viable.

As part of a documentary film unit he travelled all over the UK and Europe. Many months were spent in the Soviet Union, East Germany and Poland detailing the lives of concentration camp survivors.
Later he travelled to The United Arab Emirates for a holiday and decided not to return to the cold English winter but started shooting for magazines, covering everything from fashion shoots to Nivea bottles. He also undertook a project documenting the work of pearl divers for the National Bank of Dubai and supplied pictures for articles in various magazines.

He lives in Norwich with his wife and daughter.
